09 september, 2020

A resident of the village of Chirsovo, Galina Sircheli, known in Gagauzia as a poet opened an ethnographic museum in her parental house. She put together a collection of exhibits in honor of her father, the first teacher of the Gagauz language in the rural school of Dmitrii Cristioglo. She herself repaired the house, which was built in 1959. In the rooms she hung photographs not only of her father, but also of many representatives of the Gagauz intelligentsia of those years. Among the exhibits are household items of the Gagauz people, household utensils, a loom, a corner with the dowry of a Gagauz bride, carpets with national ornaments. Sercheli plans to equip Gagauz-Bulgarian cuisine in the courtyard of the house, where every visitor can taste national dishes. She outlined the task of the museum as introducing tourists and residents of the region to the life of the Gagauz people.
