US AMBASSADOR GIVES BATCH OF NON-CONTACT THERMOMETERS TO GAGAUZIAN KINDERGARTENS

US Ambassador to Moldova Derek Hogan handed over a batch of electronic non-contact thermometers for kindergartens of Gagauzia on Tuesday. At the ceremony the diplomat and the administration of the autonomy were greeted by the kids from the Solnyshko kindergarten of Comrat. They were holding little flags of USA, Moldova and Gagauzia.

According to Bascan Irina Vlah, not so long ago, the American side provided very important assistance with medical equipment for all departments of the autonomy where COVID-19 infected are being treated.

"We appreciate the American partners' helping us to solve the problem of countering the pandemic," said Vlah.

The US diplomat stressed that "today's gift is the assistance of the US government and the entire American people."

"In Gagauzia and Moldova, as well as throughout the world, there is a fight against the coronavirus. But life does not stop, it must go on, and children must go to kindergartens and study. The United States stands for a comprehensive partnership with Moldova, and we are pleased to have provided assistance in a timely manner. Interaction with autonomy will continue on the widest range of problems. Starting from assistance to farmers in exporting their products to the EU, and up to solving issues of construction of sewerage systems in settlements of the autonomy," the ambassador said.
