SWITZERLAND WORKING OUT NEW STRATEGY OF COOPERATION WITH MOLDOVA

Switzerland is working out a new 4-year strategy of cooperation with Moldova, Director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Moldova Bureau Caroline Tissot stated during a meeting with Moldova’s Special Representative for Transnistria negotiations, Deputy Prime Minister for Country Reintegration Cristina Lesnic and Igor Pokanevitch, Head of the World Health Organization Moldova Office.

The interlocutors discussed the SDC Bureau’s 20-year-long activities in Moldova, the projects realized in the local self-governance sphere, including the allocation of grants for beneficiaries from the Transnistrian region within the framework of the Program of confidence building measures between the Dniester River sides.

Cristina Lesnic thanked the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation for its supporting Moldova. She informed the parties about the progress of negotiations with Tiraspol and expressed Chisinau’s concern about the aggravation of the human-right situation in the Transnistrian region.
