NEW REINTEGRATION DEPUTY PREMIER AND OSCE MISSION HEAD DISCUSS TRANSNISTRIA SETTLEMENT ISSUES

The just appointed new Moldova’s Special Representative for Transnistria negotiations, Deputy Prime Minister for Country Reintegration Olga Cebotari and Ambassador Claus Neukirch, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, discussed Transnistrian conflict settlement questions.

Moldova’s National Bureau for Country Reintegration reported in this connection that the interlocutors exchanged opinions on essential questions of the Chisinau-Tiraspol negotiation agenda.

“The Moldovan Deputy Premier reaffirmed the significance of maintaining a constructive dialog with the OSCE Mission to Moldova and with all the parties of the 5+2 negotiating format. The officials exchanged opinions about the perspectives of possible organizing of a new round of consultations between the 5+2 format participants”, said the Bureau’s press release.

Olga Cebotari and Claus Neukirch highlighted the need for coordination and finishing of the draft Statement of the OSCE Ministerial Council on the 5+2 negotiation process to be adopted at the 27th Council Meeting to be held in Tirana (Albania) on December 3-4.

Cebotari and Neukirch discussed also the participation of citizens of Moldova from the Transnistrian region in the second round of the Moldovan presidential election to be held on November 15.

“Concerning the insuring of free movement for Transnistria residents to let them realize their suffrage at the November 15 presidential election, a positive answer has been received from Tiraspol, including what concerns Tiraspol’s assistance to the movement of Moldovan election officials to deliver to Bendery city and the Dubasari Raion portable ballot boxes for citizens who will need them”, reported the Bureau for Country Reintegration.
