OSCE SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE TO VISIT MOLDOVA THIS WEEK

Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, the Special Representative of the Swedish OSCE Presidency for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, is coming to Chisinau later on Tuesday for a 4-day visit to learn on site the current state of things in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, and to determine 2021 priorities together with the Sides, reported the OSCE Mission to Moldova.

In Chisinau, the diplomat will meet with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, with Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and incumbent Acting Prime Minister Aurel Ciocoi, and Moldova’s Special Representative for Transnistria negotiations, Deputy Prime Minister for Country Reintegration Olga Cebotari.

The OSCE Special Representative is scheduled to meet also with the leaders of main Moldovan political parties, with the Ambassadors of mediator countries (Russia and Ukraine) and of observers (EU and USA) taking part in the 5+2 negotiating format, and with civil society representatives.

In Tiraspol, Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting will hold meetings with Transnistria president Vadim Krasnoselsky and Transnistria’s chief negotiator and foreign minister Vitaly Ignatiev.
