SUN COMMUNICATIONS LAUNCHES NEW DIGITAL TV SERVICE

Chisinau. The SunCommunications has launched a new service –SunTV Digital.

SunCommunications Director John Maksemchuk said at a news conference in Infotag on Tueday that it is possible to pass to the на SunTV Digital free of charge before June 30. This offer also envisages the possibility of a free tapping to the SunInternet service.

The SunTV Digital includes 105 TV and five radio channels, broadcast in the digital format. Beside excellent vision quality, stereo sound and high color resolution the digital format offers the possibility of selecting languages. For example, client can choose for EuroNews one of eight languages it is broadcast,” he remarked.

In the Director’s words, the subscription fee for digital TV is analogous to the ordinary TV. The company offers eight digital packets for any taste.  The Standard includes 62 channels and its price is 80 lei a month.

The SunTV Digital subscribers are exempted from the leasing fee for a tuner (25 lei) which is provided free of charge, when clients tap to a new service.

Maksemchuk said that 85% of European residents use digital TV.

For the time being SunTV Digital  is tapped by means of a cable only in Chisinau.

“More than 5 thousand Chisinau citizens have been already tapped to a new service. We plan to conclude not less than 20 thousand contracts for the digital TV, that consists one fourth of all our clients in the capital city”, the Director said.
