MOLDOVA BECOMES WACS MEMBER
Chisinau. The Moldova Association of Culinary Arts has become the member of the WACS (World Association of Cooks Societies).
Chairman of the Association Semen Boran said at a news conference in Infotag on Wednesday that the Association was set up in 2005 and fulfilled all the WACS requirements, concerning the organizing of the Festival of Young Cookery Specialists, the Festival of Fine Cuisine and the participation in international competitions.
“The Association became the first WACS member from Moldova and received the National Operator Status. If other Moldovan organizations join the WACS, they will be only ordinary members. The title of the WACS member signifies much for us, as we can propagate the national cuisine on the national level”, Boran said.
In his words, the forum of business people from the sphere of gastronomy will be organized this summer.
“The objective of the forum is to discuss the Government’s resolution on public catering, which resolution provoked discontent on the part of the majority of economic entities. They consider that the resolution impedes the normal development of this sector”, Boran added.
He referred to the fact that the resolution envisages the transportation of frozen products and the temperature must be minus 18 degrees and not a degree less or more.
“In the country there are only a few vehicles with such possibilities. The most curious thing is when the temperature is lower than minus 6 no process are possible and we do not understand, why the temperature must be reduced to minus 18 degrees. I think it is only a whim in order to make us give bribes to controlling organs”, Semen Boran said.
The Association Chairman remarked that proposals on changing this resolution, which were worked out at the forum of business people, will be sent to the Government.
