CARGO CARRIERS THREATENING TO STAGE PROTEST ACTIONS

Chisinau. A number of Moldovan cargo carriers are threatening to stage protest actions against unwillingness on the part of the Ministry of Transport and Roads to provide them with necessary document for trips abroad.

Chairman of the “My Moldova” Association, Director of the TransGhelici enterprise Feodor Ghelici said at a news conference in Infotag on Tuesday that five TIRs and Romanian Dacia-Logan trucks cannot go to Ukraine, where they must deliver their cargo, because documents, permitting the transit through Moldova are not given to them.

“We are in despair and we cannot understand, why respective permissions are not granted to us. We addressed to all instances, but nobody wants to do anything. Romania gives us work, but our state tries to make us jobless, as we are not in a position to fulfill the contract on the supply of vehicles”, Ghelici remarked.

He asserts, if the problem is not solved, cargo carriers will go in their tracks to the central square Tuesday afternoon and will stay there until the problem is solved.

“We addressed to the Romanian Embassy to Moldova, as all the cargo belong to Romania, and requested to interfere”, Ghelici said.
