ASSOCIATION OF PRODUCERS LAUNCHES “BUY MOLDOVAN GOODS!” CAMPAIGN

Chisinau. Chairman of the Moldova Association of Producers Vasile Tarlev has launched the “Buy Moldovan Goods!” campaign.

At a news conference in Infotag on Monday he said that the idea of this project was dictated by the need to promote local producers.

“When we buy Moldovan goods, we facilitate the creation of new working places, the production volume increase, budget replenishment and development of the country’s economy”, Tarlev said.

He said that the budget of the “Buy Moldovan Goods!” project is valued at 6-7 million lei, which can be used for supporting economic entities and ordinary citizens and, maybe international financial institutions will participate in this.

“I know that this project will have ardent supporters and critics. It is not less important that it would provoke interest in the society”, Tarlev said.

He pointed out to the fact that the project is not an exclusive innovation.

“Such projects were implemented by Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and the USA in the 30ies of the last century during the economic depression.

“It has come the time to think, what you have done for your country and what we do for the state”, Tarlev remarked and expressed hope that the majority of the Moldovan citizens (99.9%) would support this initiative by the Moldova Association of Producers.

Answering Infotag’s question, whether the Association’s initiative will have a political component, which envisages that Tarlev will head a slate of candidates from one of the political Parties, he said that the project is of a pure economic nature.

“The project is designed for a long period of time. It is not ruled out that some politicians will be able to support it”, Tarlev concluded.
