MUNTEANU REVOKES HIS CANDIDACY IN FAVOR OF DABIJA
Chisinau. Anatol Munteanu, a candidate for the Romanian Parliament at the November 30 elections, announced at a news conference in Infotag today he was withdrawing his candidacy in favor of Nicolae Dabija.
“With this step, I want to emphasize that all democratic forces in Moldova need to unify. It’s only through unification that we will be able to handle the numerous problems of our society. Mr. Dabija assured me he would continue working hard for the sake of granting Romanian citizenship to local populace, simplification of the visa issuance procedure, for scholarships for students from Bessarabia receiving education in Romania, and for providing pensions to the retired servicemen of the former Romanian army”, Munteanu said.
He called upon the rest two Moldovan candidates for the Romanian Parliament –Eugen Tomac and Tudor Pantiru – to follow his example and to quit the electoral race, for he believes “Other candidates have neither proper experience nor voters’ support. We need an experienced leader respected in Bessarabia, and such man is Nicolae Dabija”.
However, Eugen Tomac stated at his press conference held also today that he is not going to give up his campaigning, for he is resolute to defend the Romanians’ rights all over the world.
