THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS DECIDED TO TAKE NO PART IN THE JULY 29 ELECTIONS
Chisinau. The People’s Republican Party has decided to take no part in the July 29 elections, its leader, former First Deputy Premier Nicolae Andronic announced at a news conference in Infotag today.
He explained the PRP presumes “it is pointless to be a part of the already started political slaughter. We are profoundly concerned about the socio-political situation in Moldova, as the republic has embarked on perhaps the toughest and principal-most election campaign in its entire history. An excessive polarization of the electorate, the society’s division into two camps, promotion of radical and destructive messages – all this restricts the possibility of holding a fair election campaign”.
He stressed that “political hostility has become dominating element in Moldova’s political life. This is telling very negatively on the general situation in the country”.
In his words, the People’s Republican Party undertook considerable efforts to normalize the situation in Moldova, but they failed to find a due support. Now the party will be promoting the idea that all citizens ought to necessarily go to the polls.
