HOT ELECTION TIMES TO START SOON IN MOLDOVA – EXPERT GROUP
Moldova enters in the period of elections - September-5 referendum, presidential and pre-term parliamentary elections, and also local elections in the spring of 2011. Expert Grup Center analysts said the elections will seriously influence all private and public life areas.
According to Center Director Valeriu Prohnitchi, difficulties inside the ruling Alliance for European Integration (AEI) aggravate development process, including economy area.
Expert Alex Oprunenco said a disorder in the AEI is proved by the decree of acting president Mihai Ghimpu on Soviet occupation, when other members could not stop him from signing it.
Expert Adrian Lupusor said at the conference about national economy development results, and added that some signs of public finance stabilization and premises of budget deficit reduction showed up. But he said that these premises mostly have administrative than economic character because they are based on direct tax increasing. Also, he said that the governmental security emission in mass caused a domestic debt growing by 14.1 million lei in June – to 5.28 billion lei, so it almost reached the limit established by the Government for 2010.
Experts said the flood will not influence excessively the agriculture in defiance of the opposition affirmations, which apparently started the election campaign. Yet, but they recommend to population insuring actively their property, because the state can not always compensate damages.
The Expert Grup director said investment situation is far to be stable. Even if the investments grown by US$12 million in 1H2010 comparing to the same period of 2009 and are about US$45 million, but they are composed in half of loans and reinvested profits (the authorities projecting to start imposing it from 2011). Investment in authorized capital is not essential.
