TRANSNISTRIAN WAR VETS STAND FOR REFERENDUM
“Tiras-Tighina” Association of 1992 Transnistrian War Veterans is concerned about the political events taking place in Moldova and about the scandals involving ruling coalition leaders.
Association Chairman Anatolie Caraman told a news conference in Infotag today that the governing Alliance for European Integration has failed to carry out a police reform and to reduce corruption and protectionism. He presumes that minimum 5 more years will be needed to de-politicize the Ministry of the Interior and to staff its leadership with real professionals, not political servants.
He said the Association has prepared for politicians an informative report named Surprize Surprize, which will be made public upon dissolution of the incumbent Parliament – during a forthcoming parliamentary campaign.
“We realize that we have got into a very dangerous enterprise and that the people mentioned in the report will be trying to annihilate us, but we are not afraid of them. What we are going to make public is a genuine truth, and the Moldovan society will at last come to know who really rules this republic”, Caraman stated to much intrigued journalists.
In his opinion, to solve country’s problems and put an end to the ongoing endless political warfare, it is necessary to let citizens elect their president themselves.
“We are calling on all our fellow citizens to come to the constitutional referendum on September 5 and to vote for amending the Constitution’s Article 78. I guess this is the only possibility for Moldova to elect a worthy president who will work for the welfare of the Moldovan people, not of Moldovan mafia clans”, said Anatolie Caraman.
