MOLDOVA K-1 FIGHTERS WON 7 MEDALS AT EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Fighters of the Moldova K-1 Federation have won 7 medals at the European Kickboxing Championships held in Lithuania, and their team ranked 3rd, said Federation Secretary Victor Serban at the press conference on Wednesday.
Serban said the success is even more significant if one takes into account that Moldovan athletes took a part in such important tournament for the first time. Altogether, about 200 fighters coming from 20 countries participated in the championships.
Federation Vice President Nicanor Trocin said that majority athletes (7 out of 10) won awards. “It is a symbolic moment proving the federation chose a right way in guys’ education, and coaches focus on important elements of athlete preparation”, Trocin said.
According to Federation representative Octavian Orheianu, Vladimir Kirillov, Vladislav Para and Victor Curdes won gold medals; the list of prize winners also includes Vladislav Tepardei, Dumitru Sirbu, Tudor Gheorghe and Alexandru Col.
