18.10.2007 UKRANIAN SOFTPROM OPENS OFFICIAL OFFICE IN MOLDOVA

Chisinau, October 19 (Infotag) The largest Ukrainian software distributor – Softprom has opened its official office in Moldova as the SOFTPROM S.R.L.

Its Director General Pavel Jdanovich said at a press conference on Thursday that his company has great plans at the Moldovan market.

The company hopes to increase the sales of licensed software in Moldova and this increase can exceed 1000%, as it has only started and it is in embryo at present”, he said.

In the Director’s opinion, there are all prerequisites in Moldova for transferring to civilized principles of the software distribution, but the Softprom is not intending to participate in the market loyalty monitoring, but it will act by means of convincing and presenting better products of international brands.

Earlier Jdanovich said that the Softprom turnover in Moldova in 2008 must constitute about $500 thousand (the annual turnover of the Ukrainian Softprom is almost $10 million) About half of this sum will be brought not only by sales, but also by servicing software equipment. The Softprom Head sees no real competitors in Moldova – “there is simply no one of them”.

Director of the Moldovan Softprom office Iurie Mindrescu added that the office will be exclusively dealing with the distribution and maintenance of the software to be sold. Products of CodeGear/Borland, Coral, Doctor Web, PROMT, the Kaspersky laboratory, Red Hat, Symantec, Quark ABBYY, Adobe and other famous world producers will be supplied to the retail shops, which numbers already 200, they will be supplied by official partners and independent distributors (about 700).

The Softprom company supplied software to Moldovan dealers for already three years and in 2007 it began supplying software for the retail trade, as well.

Beside Moldova the Softprom will open its official office in Belarus.
