NEW YOUTH ORGANIZATION CALLS CITIZENS TO A MARCH TO SHOW THAT MOLDOVA IS NOT CRIMEA

The just emerged citizens’ movement “The Young of Moldova” has called upon compatriots to join the organization’s march called “It’s Not Crimea Here” to be organized in Chisinau next Sunday.

Anatol Ursu of the movement stated at a news conference at Infotag today that the march is aimed “against Russian occupation”.

The march will start moving at 2pm from the Moldovan Academy of Sciences central building along the city’s main street, will cross the Chisinau central square and over to the Russian Embassy, where the marchers will demand from Russia to pull out its troops from Moldova and to stop pressing on the republic.

“We are calling upon the residents of Moldova to unity. Everyone must stand up against aggression and military conflicts”, stated the young man.

Another activist, Dinu Plangau, emphasized that the march organizers stand up not against the Russian-speaker population of Moldova, not against Russians as such but against Russia’s policy.

He voiced confidence that in the Crimea, Ukraine was subjected to aggression by Russia, which “has violated international agreements”.

“And in Transnistria, the situation is also getting tense due to the presence of the Russian troops. All this is causing our apprehensions that Russia may bring its troops into Chisinau as well. This is exactly why we are holding this march and calling to unity – to avoid the repetition of the Crimea events here”, said Plangau.

His party comrade Iulian Dramatchi believes that Moldova must react to external threats, that “the aggressor may attack us without whatever reasons, and an example to this is the seizure of the Crimea”.

The beginning politician believes that Moldovans should “take example from western and southern Ukraine, whose people held actions of protest with a call to unity, to defending their state, and thus prevented an incursion of the military into cities”.

In conclusion, he announced that the 5+2 format negotiations on Transnistrian conflict settlement are inefficient because Moldova plays according to the rules imposed on it by Russia and Transnistria.

Infotag’s dossier:  Citizens’ movement “The Young of Moldova” appeared as such in March 2014. It stands for Moldova’s unification with Romania. To achieve this, the organization is presently waging an information campaign called “Unification Means…”.
