TRANSPARENT MOLDOVA ASSOCIATION ACCUSES MINISTER OF ECONOMY VALERIU LAZAR OF INCOMPETENCE

The Transparent Moldova Association accuses Valeriu Lazar, Deputy Premier and Minister of Economy of Moldova, of incompetence and corruption, demanding his resignation.

At the Thursday press conference at Infotag Agency, the Association Chairman, Doctor of Economics Simion Lungu reasoned their demands by the fact that “all the five years of the Minister’s activity are marked by unproductiveness, corruption and, as a result, state losses”

“In last years we witnessed a lot of corruption scandals and non-transparent privatization. Lazar did not contribute to the economy revival, while the Ministry itself is amorphous” said Lungu, mentioning that “Lazar is not enough prepared for the post of Minister of Economy”.

According to him, this position is even more important than the post of Premier or President, because it determines the country’s economy development.

“The difficult situation in the economy is a result of the corrupted and incompetent officials”, underlined the expert.

The Ministry of Economy refused to comment on allegations of the Transparent Moldova.

Infotag’s dossier: The Transparent Moldova Association was registered in 2012. It aims to develop projects for increasing population social activity and to improve the socio-political climate in the country. The association includes around 20 active members.
