CRIMINAL CASES INITIATION IS POLITICALLY MOTIVATED – FORMER MINISTRY OF JUSTICE EMPLOYEES

CRIMINAL CASES INITIATION IS POLITICALLY MOTIVATED – FORMER MINISTRY OF JUSTICE EMPLOYEES Former employees of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Elena Gritco and Nina Cereteu believe that sending criminal cases, initiated against them, to the Prosecutors’ Office is a political order.

On the Thursday press conference at Infotag they said that they are accused of abuse of power and counterfeiting materials at registration of a certain federation of martial arts.

Gritco believes that the criminal proceeding is due to their disagreement with the refusal of the MoJ authorities to register Renato Usatii’s “Partidul Nostru” [Our Party], as well as disagreement with later speech together with him in front of journalists on June 19.

“Pressure was exercised upon us and we were forced to act against professional ethics even before. But after June 19 it took incredible forms”, said Gritco, mentioning that she got to the hospital for 10 days after the last press conference.

“After we resigned, we started to notice that some unknown people are taking photos of us, of our cars, are calling us on phone and threatening us. That is an environment of pressure and uncertainty is created”, said Cereteu.

According to her, immediately after the press conference with Renato Usatii, Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim accused his former subordinates of non-professionalism and presence of the conflict of interest in their actions.

Gritco informed journalists that for her activity she was repeatedly awarded with honorary diplomas from the Ministry and the Government, while her colleague was twice re-elected to her post as an efficient worker.

“Maybe it is the actions of Minister Efrim where a conflict of interest exists? Because namely he is the political figure, appointed according to the algorithm from the LDPM, he is member of the LDPM National Council and for sure is not exempted from performance of his duties in front of his colleagues”, believes Cereteu.

Both former employees of the MoJ announced about their intention to continue fighting, naming “harassment and fabrications” the statements of Efrim and his associates.
