SINGERS FROM 12 COUNTRIES TO PARTICIPATE IN FESTIVAL “DOUA INIMI GEMENE” The 12th edition of the International Festival “Doua Inimi Gemene” in memoriam of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici will be held in Chisinau on November 13-15.

 

Director of the Festival Eugenia Marin – Doina Aldea-Teodorovici’s mother, said at the Wednesday press conference at Infotag that singers from 12 countries will participate in the contest, including from Moldova, Romania, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Latvia.

 

“We are glad that the interest towards the festival is growing and some of the singers are participating in the contest for several years successively. Many well-known singers started their career on the Festival. Our goal is seeking for new talents and promoting creation of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, as well as Moldova in general”, said she.

 

Participants in the contest will have to perform a song from the repertoire of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici and a song in the language of the country they represent. For the first time, this year the participant’s first song will be musically accompanied by orchestra of their son – Cristofor Aldea-Teodorovici.

 

Member of the jury Anatol Lupu said that this year all the participants are strong, both from Moldova and from abroad, thus the jury will have a difficult choice.

 

The Festival organizers said that the size of money prizes has not been yet established, adding that it depends on sponsors. Last year, the main prize was worth 1000 euros.

 

Costs for the festival are estimated at 1.4 million lei. The ministry of culture allocated 80 thousand lei for the contest organizing. The rest of expenses will be covered by sponsors.
