SIX PARTIES MAY WIN SEATS IN NEW MOLDOVAN PARLIAMENT – OPINION POLL      The next Parliament of Moldova may come to have the representatives of 6 political parties, as per the opinion poll “Vox Populi – October 2014”, carried out by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers on October 11-20 among 1,063 respondents residing in 71 various-type populated areas of Moldova. The pollsters are saying that error should not exceed ±3%.

 

Association Chairman Victor Mocanu said at the research presentation in Infotag on Monday that the respondents gave most of all votes to the Communist Party – 21.8%. Next were the Liberal Democratic Party – 15.4%, the Democratic Party – 11.3%, the Patria Party – 8.1%, the Liberal Party – 7.8% and the Party of Socialists – 7.5%. The Popular Anti-Mafia Movement received only 2.4%.

 

The research revealed that 57% respondents are ready to go to the polls, 26% are still uncertain, 8% are hesitating, and 5% are sure they will not go.

 

As for citizens’ trust in political organizations, the leader here is the Communist Party – 37%, followed by the LDP – 34%, the DP – 30%, the Patria Party – 29%, the LP – 25% and the Party of Socialists – 22%.

 

Among Moldovan politicians, the voters’ highest trust is in MCP leader Vladimir Voronin – 20.2%, followed by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca – 18.6%, then by LDPM leader Vlad Filat – 11.6%, DP leader Marian Lupu – 10.1%, Renato Usatii – 8.9%, PSRM leader Igor Dodon – 8.4%, Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca – 3.7%, Liberal Party Chairman Mihai Ghimpu – 2.4%.

 

Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti, Parliament Chairman Igor Corman, National Liberal Party Chairperson Vitalia Pavlicenco, politician Iurie Rosca of the Christian Democratic Popular Party and Bashkan of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal have trust ratings at the level of 1%.
