21 november, 2014
CENTRIST UNION HOPES TO ENTER PARLIAMENT The Centrist Union of Moldova (CUM) hopes to get into parliament on the November 30 elections, gaining at least 6% of votes.

Chairman of the political formation Mihai Petrache said at the Friday’s press conference at Infotag that “the position of current government and political parties, in particular, has forced the CUM to intervene in the country’s political life and take part in elections”.

According to him, “the nowadays political class has lost people’s trust. While 60% of population has never been members of a political party or cooperate with any political block and are ready to vote for a new political force”.

Petrache considers that “Moldova needs a new government, new force, which will develop the country and will continue the process of integration in the European Union”.

He noted that “in the new parliament, CUM will not go to the alliance with any party, but will cooperate only with the people”.

Actor and parliament candidate Sergiu Voloc said that the current government is talking about European Integration, but with all this is blocking the conducting of reforms.

According to him, “the Centrist Union wants to remove the current government and it will be helped by population, as people no longer believe the propaganda from LDPM in the form of a box of matches, caps from the Liberal Party or sacks of potatoes from the Democrats”.

“People want a new government, integral and non-corrupt. Not the one that is giving the airport for different military purposes, which will soon happen with national operator Moldtelecom, the fact that will allow terrorists listening telephones and monitoring people’s communication in Internet”, said parliamentary candidate, adding that “relations with Russia should be diplomatic”.

He laid the blame on the government for the fact that almost one-half of country’s population has gone abroad to live and work.

Participants at the conference consider that “this year, as well as in the previous years, there will be falsifications during elections and still nobody will be punished”.

“Falsification at elections should be punished, thus providing possibility and stimulating the society to vote, so that people to believe again that the government can include honest representatives of the people”, said participants at the press conference.
