SOCIAL ACTIVISTS PRESENT WEBSITE WITH STATE OFFICIALS’ BIOGRAPHIES AND INCOMES A website with data about state officials - http://www.interese.md was presented on Wednesday at the news conference at Infotag by social activists Galina Bostan and Mariana Calughina.

According to them, the site was created by five specialists during a year with financial assistance from Soros Moldova Foundation.

“The site has 10 basic rubrics, for example: President, Accounts Chamber, Parliament, Government. Information has been taken from open sources – documents, published by the power structures, starting from Government to local authorities. The cost of creating the site is around US$10 thousand”, explained Calughina.

She noted that on the portal can be found biographical data, declarations on income, list of occupied posts.

“Currently, not all the rubrics may be considered complete. For example in the rubric Prosecution there are all the prosecutors general, but it does not include yet the entire complex system of this state institution. We will replenish the database with the data collection”, said the website developer.

According to Galina Bosta, the main goal of the site is to help media representatives and concerned citizens to conduct journalist investigations.

“We are expecting that our project will be observed by the Anticorruption commission, the employees of which are engaged in studying officials’ property”, said she.
