MOLDOVANS TRUST THE MOST IURIE LEANCA AND IGOR DODON…

Moldovan citizens mostly trust former premier Iurie Leanca (23%) and Moldovan Socialists Party (PSRM) Leader Igor Dodon (15%) show the results of an opinion poll, conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOP) at the demand of the Timpul [time] newspaper.
Director of the Foundation Andrei Luchian said during Thursday’s news conference at Infotag that the poll has been conducted within the period of March 28 – April 5 in 107 Moldovan localities among 1755 respondents. The error rate is ± 2.3%.
According to him, citizens trust least of all Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (LDPM) Leader Vlad Filat – 5% and leader of the Antimafia Movement Sergiu Mocanu – 4%.
Most supporters have the European People’s Party of Moldova (EPPM) – 17%, the PSRM – 16%, Our Party – 11%, Moldovan Communist Party (MCP) – 10.5% and Liberal Party (LP) – 10%.
28% of respondents expressed positive attitude towards the EPPM, 25% - to PSRM, 23% - to the LP. Mostly negative attitude was shown towards LDPM – 41%, DPM – 39%, MCP – 35%.
According to the Director, had the parliamentary elections been conducted next weekend, 25% electors would have voted for PSRM, 17% - for EPPM, 15% - for MCP, 10% - LP and 9% each for LDPM, DP and Our Party.
…RELY MORE ON LOCAL MAYORS THAN ON COUNCILS
Moldovan people trust local mayors more than raion [district] councils, says data of the opinion poll, presented on Thursday.
Andrei Luchian said that according to the poll, 70% of interviewees trust local mayors, 57% - local councils, 40% - raion chairmen, 35% - raion councils.
According to him, 53% respondents are satisfied by the mayors’ activity, 43% - by local councils’ activity, 28% - by raion councils, while 28% of them know nothing about their governors.
To the question about how many times over the last 12 months people addressed to primaria [local executive authority], 47% answered that they did not address at all, while 53% - that they addressed at least once. 42% of the latter are dissatisfied by the attitude and services quality in primaria.
According to the poll, 38% interviewees are constantly following the developments in the locality, 40% are from time to time seeking to know about the situation, while the rest are not quite interested in it, said Luchian.
He noted that 11.2% poll participants are satisfied with the situation in the country, 87% - are dissatisfied. 86% believe Moldova needs new government.
