The 5th International Festival of Theater and Film Schools ClassFest will be held in Chisinau on April 1-May 3, 2015.

 

Creative Director of the Festival, Dean of the Faculty of Theater, Film and Dance in the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts (AMTAP) Svetlana Taranu said during Friday’s news conference at Infotag that the Festival includes representatives of 13 theater academies from the Western and Eastern Europe.

 

Rector of the AMTAP Victoria Melnic said that the Festival is conducted under the motto “Communication, gesture, movement”. According to her, this large-scale cultural and education event is not a contest.

 

“The ClassFest is an international event, which contributes to propaganda of modern art, stimulates intercultural dialog, helps sharing experience between different theater and film schools, as well as provides assistance to young actors”, said Melnic.

 

She said that within the Festival, theater performances based on principles of plastic expression, mime and verbal theater will be presented, as well as workshops on dance and plastic expression, exhibitions, concerts will be held.

 

During six days, Moldovan audience will have the opportunity to see different performances, presented by students of artistic-educational institutions from Moldova, Georgia, Romania, Ukraine, Slovakia, Russia, Poland, as well as from Germany, Austria and France.

 

The Festival will be held in Mihai Eminescu National Theater, Eugen Ionesco Theater, in Luceafarul Republican Theater, Anton Chekhov State Russian Drama Theater, Licurici Republican Puppy Theater, Ginta Latina Theater, the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts. Entrance to the festival is free.
