SLOBOZIA BUSINESSMAN PROPOSES A PROJECT ON SUPPLYING AGRICULTURAL GOODS TO RUSSIA Businessman from Slobozia, Director of “Dobrodely” Company Anatol Potacevschi proposed to the Moldovan Government to launch a project on supplying agricultural products to the Voronezh oblast [region] of Russia.

During Tuesday’s news conference at Infotag he said that he has a preliminary agreement with Voronezh region government in the person of its governor Alexei Gordeev.

“It is about creating in the region’s localities a network of small shops for selling Moldovan fruit and vegetables to pensioners at acceptable prices. The Russian side is ready to cover 70% cost of the project, which according to my calculations will total around US$1 million”, he said.

Potacevschi said that he recently visited two markets in Voronezh and can with complete responsibility say that people there still remember Moldovan agricultural products

“Today our company got a fiscal number as an economic agent of Moldova. This means we are able to start supplying goods to Russia. I think that at the first stage we can focus on Voronezh city, while later to expand the network of shops in the whole region. However, to begin commercial activity we need working capital. I would like to address a cooperation proposal to the Moldovagaz company and to Moldovan Agriculture Ministry”, he said.

The businessman expressed confidence that if he finds a response in Chisinau, the supplies of fresh products can start in the nearest future.

“We have to understand that the Russian market and the CIS market in general is a huge potential, untapped by Moldova. On the European market we are not perceived due to high quality requirements, certification challenges and other, while in Russia people will buy our fruit and vegetables. Besides, the beginning of large scale supplies from Moldova means employment that is wellbeing”, Potacevschi said.

According to him, if the “Dobrodely” company project gets support at the state level, soon thousands of Moldovan citizens will get the opportunity to be employed in Voronezh oblast.
