MOLDOVANS SAY THEY ARE DISSATISFIED WITH LIVING STANDARDS IN COUNTRY Moldovan people are dissatisfied with the living standard in the republic and believe the country goes wrong direction, the data of the poll, conducted by the CBS-AXA Center of Sociological Research and Marketing.

 

During Tuesday’s news conference at Infotag, CBS-AXA Director Ion Jigau said that the poll was conducted on May 6 to 18 in 12 localities among 1621 people. The rate of error is ± 2.4%.

 

At the question about the direction the situation in the country goes in, 78% of respondents answered that to worse, while 13% - to best.

 

Only 3% of the interviewees are satisfied by the economic situation in the republic.

 

As for the standard of living, 36.1% said they are not quite satisfied, 33% - are dissatisfied, 26.7% - rather satisfied and 3.1% - very satisfied.

 

Talking about people’s expectations within a year, 32.9% said they think nothing will change, 26% - they will live worse, 8.5% - better, 0.3% - much worse.

Had the local elections been conducted tomorrow, 33.7% would vote for the current city governor Dorin Chirtoaca of the LP, while 24.5% - for the PSRM candidate Zinaida Grechanaya, says the data of the CBS-AXA center poll.

 

Center Director Ion Jigau said that 5.1% of people are ready to vote for Oazu Nantoi, 3.5% - for Serafim Urechean, 3.5% - for Oleg Brega, 3% - Ilian Casu. The rest of candidates would get less than 3%.

 

Had the elections to the Chisinau Municipal Council been conducted tomorrow, 25.4% would have voted for the Liberal Party, 21.2% - for Socialists, 7.2% for the European People’s Party of Moldova, 5.6% - for Our Party (Renato Usatii), for Communists – 3.4%, Liberal Democrats – 2.8%, Democratic Party - 1.6%.

 

Asked who of politicians they trust most, respondents said Igor Dodon – 10.3%, Iurie Leanca – 8.3%, Vladimir Voronin – 5.8%, Renato Usatii – 5.1%, Dorin Chirtoaca – 3.1%, Marian Lupu – 2.9%, Mihai Ghimpu – 2.6%, Vlad Filat – 2.1%, Oazu Nantoi – 1. The rest of politicians got less than 1%.

 

Had the parliamentary election taken place next weekend, 57% of electors would have participated in it, while 8.8% - would have ignored it. 17.2% would have voted for the PSRM, 9.35 – for MCP, 8.9% - for the Our Party, 8.4% - for “European People’s Platform of Moldova (EPPM) – Iurie Leanca”, 7% - for Liberal Party, 5.2% - LDPM, 4.1% - DP.
