CANDIDATE FOR CMC ACCUSES CHISINAU AUTHORITIES OF ILLEGAL LAND DISTRIBUTION

02 june, 2015
CANDIDATE FOR CMC ACCUSES CHISINAU AUTHORITIES OF ILLEGAL LAND DISTRIBUTION The independent candidate for the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) Oleg Cernei accuses the Chisinau Primaria [city government] and judges of illegal distribution of 27 hectares of land in the capital city.

During Tuesday’s news conference at Infotag, he said that 50 land plots were illegally distributed within the period of 2011-2015, while the damage, caused to the municipal budget due to this, accounts for 380 million lei.

According to him, these actions were challenged for starting criminal cases and involvement of Primaria officials.

Cernei said that during the last CMC meeting on May 11, another 68 land projects were included in the daily agenda and approved due to joint voting of Communist and Liberal councilors.

“I was proposing not to consider or vote for these, but councilors took a different decision”, he said.

Cernei said that distribution of lots in park zones, as well as almost on the roadway is possible only at participation of Primaria officials, as well as judges, who on an unclear basis were taking decisions in favor of beneficiaries.

He added that a special commission was established in Primaria, which during two months was investigating all the cases of illegal land distribution and found out that Chisinau Primaria lawyers, at different pretexts, were not challenging courts decisions or even were absent from the hearings, the fact that allowed certain persons to easily get the land.

He called the National Anti-Corruption Center to publish all the information and tell how many cases were started on illegal land distribution, as well as the Prosecutor General’s Office - to report on which stage the investigation is now.

According to Cernei, 17 criminal cases were initiated so far.

He said that 7 of 27 ha could not be returned anymore, while the rest are worth fighting for.

The independent candidate for CMC said that the whole information was provided to citizens so that they knew what happens in the city government and how the Municipal Council is working, to make them think for whom to vote.

Infotag’s dossier: Oleg Cernei has been holding the post in Chisinau Municipal Council since 2004. In January-October 2012 he was advisor to Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca on housing and utilities issues.
