CIVIL PLATFORM DA STARTS CONSULTATIONS WITH POLITICAL PARTIES…

The Civil Platform “Demnitate si Adevar” [DA, “Dignity and Justice”] thanked people, who participated in the protest action the platform organized last Sunday.

During Friday’s news conference at Infotag, one of the DA leaders Andrei Nastase appreciated the braveness and civil responsibility, demonstrated by the protest participants, expressing confidence in the unwavering civil solidarity within the protest.

“We will continue encouraging people to join the protest movement and actively contributing to recruitment. The platform states that three protest actions over the last three months predetermine the resistance of corrupt authorities, who control all the state institutions. The most important success of the protesters is that this appearing phenomenon became a benchmark for the whole society within the country and outside it, as well as for international organizations – our development partners”, he said.

DA leaders said that the next protest action is planned for August 27, but before that, the platform intends to conduct consultations with a number of political parties.

“The DA announces about start of consultations with political parties for elaborating right actions, which can be taken jointly. We should organize well the National Assembly on August 27, 2015 for identifying tasks on liberation of the country from oligarchs”, Nastase said.

Former judge of the European Court of Human Rights Stanislav Pavlovschi called to act consistently and quickly, expressing concerns that the platform leaders may not be able to keep the situation under control as the state of things in the banking sphere and in the country in general is very difficult.

“There is a risk that something may happen before August 27, people may come out for protests earlier”, he said.

…AND WELCOMES PREMIER GABURICI’S RESIGNATION

The DA Civil Platform welcomes Chiril Gaburici’s resignation from the post of Moldovan Prime Minister.

“We cans say that Gaburici acted quite decently. He decided to resign in order not to further be accomplice in crimes made by the current governance. He got involved in this swamp and decided to go out of it. This attempt is laudable. Now he has just to tell the details about the real cause of his resignation and about what happened in the banking system”, said one of the DA leaders, political scientist Igor Botan on Friday.

He added that the Government’s resignation and all that preceded it shows that no laws are working in Moldova.

“We got convinced that decisions in the country are taken not by the Government, the Parliament or the President, but by leaders of the two parties, who have illegally created a new center of power. The Government proposed to liquidate three problematic banks, but leaders of the ruling alliance decided to nationalize them to try to steal one more billion of euros from Moldovan people”, Botan said.

As for the results of the Sunday’s protest action, Andrei Nastase said that the protest was successful despite the Liberal Party’s behavior.

“It looked like Liberals received an order to interfere in our protest. We have nothing against them. In areas, where our ideas coincide, we are ready to fight together. Our demands are absolutely understandable: we demand returning of the stolen milliard of euros, continuing of the country’s European course, guaranteeing of human freedoms and democratic development”, Nastase stressed.

In his turn, Stanislav Pavlovschi said that tensions in the society reached their high point.

“My colleagues said Moldova is on the verge of an abyss, but I am afraid that we are already rolling into this abyss. It is quite deep and the fall will be long. But we need to take measures. I do not want to be an evil prophet, but I fear we will not be able to keep the situation under control. People have been driven to despair; anything can happen”, Pavlovschi said.
