ADAMI MEDIA PRIZE-2015 CONTEST STARTS IN MOLDOVA The start of the contest for journalists Adami Media Prize-2015 in Moldova, announced Director of Adami Program Stefan Tolz during Monday’s news conference at Infotag.

 

According to him, journalists, who desire to participate in the contest, should submit publications and products on the topic of integration and cultural diversity.

 

“Participants should film a video of any format and genre or create a webpage on the topic of migration, integration and cultural diversity in Eastern Partnership countries. Media products, created by journalists, should contribute to a peaceful co-existence of people of different national, ethnical, religious or cultural traditions”, he said.

 

Tolz said that the prize, worth 2 thousand euros will be given to winners in several categories: video in the field of entertainment; documentary video, information programs; news and short-length video; webpage; online video. Also there will be awarded the prize “Young Adami”, in which students and up to 28-year-old journalists can participate.

 

The contest aims at raising interest of media to contributing to peaceful co-existence of people of different nationalities, cultural and religious traditions.

 

Member of the Council on the Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality Ian Feldman supported the project, saying that these topics are relevant for Moldova.

 

“Moldova has many problems, connected to discrimination. The basic weapon in combating discrimination is informing of population. Exactly this is what the contest is aimed at: to stimulate journalists to make their contribution in the fight against discrimination”, Feldman said.

 

Infotag’s dossier: Applications for participation in the contest are received till October 25. Journalists from the EaP countries are eligible for participation in the contest. The project is financed by the Foreign Ministry of Germany. Three finalists in each category will be invited to the awards ceremony in Tbilisi (Georgia). The winners will be announced during a gala-concert in Georgia on December 10.
