ORGANIZERS OF DOUA INIMI GEMENE FESTIVAL ENCOURAGE BUSINESSMEN TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The organizers of the 13th festival competition Doua inimi gemene encourage businessmen to provide financial assistance in the event.

Festival Director Yevghenia Marin – mother of Doina Aldea-Teodorovici said at the press conference that “the qualifying round will be held on October 3-4 and November 13-15”.

In her words, “the registration deadline is October 1, and according to preliminary data, the competition will be attended by performers from 14 countries, divided into two age categories 10-16 and 16-40 years”.

“The contestants will be singing two songs, one written by Ion Aldea-Teodorovici and the second in the language of the country they represent”, she noted.

She also said that “participants will be required to pay a nominal fee for participating; and those wishing to perform with an orchestra Aldea-Teodorovici should pay a certain amount. This is done in order to pay all the expenses of the contest and the festival”.

Marin noted that only Ministry of Culture has agreed to help in the organization so far. It allocated 60 thousand lei, while the expenses exceeded 1 million lei. Therefore, she urged “businessman to provide financial assistance”.

Cristofor Teodorovici, son of Doina Aldea Teodorovici urged the contestants to “sing pop, rock and other genres, but not classical style” and to sing different songs, not the ones that are most often heard, recalling that his father wrote more than 300 songs.

Cristofor believes that “it would be good if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova carries out courses of the Romanian language for foreigners who come to Moldova, and who participate in various competitions”.

The National Philharmonic Director Svetlana Bivol is sure that “in this year’s competition and festival, strong contenders from different countries will appear on the stage”.

According to her, “the participants appreciate the Moldovan culture, music, they like Moldova, so many try to come as often as possible and to participate in such a beautiful and important cultural event”.

Responsible for inviting participants from abroad, Yevghenia Ursu said “we negotiate with the participants from different countries, the festival to be attended by contestants from all continents of the world”.
