24 november, 2015
DA PLATFORM TO CREATE PARTY BY MEANS OF A WEBSITE… The Civil Platform “Demnitate si Adevar” [DA, “Dignity and Justice”], the Great Popular Assembly Council and social layers, who are supporting the continuing protests, are going to create a new party, whose members will be elected by means of the www.implicare.md website.

DA Chairman Andrei Tanase said at Tuesday’s news conference at Infotag that given the political situation in the country, as well as demands for cardinal changes in the political class, the decision was taken to create a political party and form a Government, in which the society will trust.

According to him, the party members should sacrifice their time for the sake of changes to better in order that power usurpers and those, who stole billions, to resign.

“Members for the party will be elected by the society, journalists and experts in different fields on the basis of the criteria of transparency, professionalism. Candidates, who want to occupy public positions should be professionals and correspond to all the requirements. People, who want to join the new party, should fill out the questionnaire on the website www.implicare.md . We would be glad to see in the new party more professional youth, who is able to achieve changes, also it would be great if diaspora will support our initiative, as their opinion and support is also very important”, Nastase said.

Also, he said that the name for the new party will be chosen by Moldovan citizens.

Member of the Great Popular Assembly Valentin Dolganiuc said that all members and supporters of the DA are united by one idea – fighting against the current authorities, as the 2014 elections allowed those, who stole billions, to remain in power.

According to the DA member Igor Botan, Moldova has to learn from Romania’s experience, were the President is elected by people, but not by the Parliament.

Alexei Munteanu, the developer of the implicare.md website said he created this service at his own initiative, while the DA platform approved it.

According to him, candidates for membership in the party can fill in the form and provide personal data without fearing that this information can be seen by someone; all the data will be stored in an archive, the access to which will be prohibited to other website visitors.

…DA LEADERS MAINTAIN PLAHOTNIUC IS UPSETTING SIGNATURE RAISING

The DA Platform leaders are maintaining that the former First Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party, oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc and the public institutions under his total control are putting obstacles to the ongoing raising of citizens’ signatures in support of a referendum for returning to electing president by a direct, all-nation vote.

DA Chairman Andrei Nastase said at the news conference in Infotag that, for instance, the Constitutional Court and the Central Election Commission decided at the last moment to alter the legal procedure of preparation to a referendum. As a result, obstacles to the signature raising have appeared all of a sudden.

Nastase voiced confidence that despite whatever hindrances, DA activists will manage to raise the necessary number of signatures in 2-3 months.

Commenting on the latest information about a possible nomination of Vlad Plahotniuc for prime minister, Nastase called the candidacy as absolutely unacceptable.

“Plahotniuc must sit in prison, and not in government. Closer to the end of his parliamentary career, he stole billions from the nation, and those billions have become a state debt – a heavy burden on every living person in Moldova”, said Andrei Nastase.

He recommended Honorable Chairman of the Democratic Party MP Dumitru Diacov not to play with people’s patience because “the people’s recent assault of Plahotniuc’s Global Business Center may well repeat in the Government, too, if only Plahotniuc becomes a prime minister”.

“Plahotniuc is presently taking the [Vlad Filat’s] Ministry of the Interior under his full control, and is offering the [Filat’s] Customs Service to Liberal Party Chairman Mihai Ghimpu. Plahotniuc is already holding whole Moldova under his personal control. His place is in jail”, stressed the DA Chairman.
