PLANT FOR WASTE RECYCLING BUILT IN CHISINAU In Chisinau, ECO Fabrica, the first plant for recycling old tires and appliances will start functioning on Monday, December 21.

 

Deputy Chairman of the Association Moldrec Dmitry Dedyuk said at the press conference in Infotag that at the first stage up to 10 tons of waste would be processed on a daily basis. By the method of heat treatment, 4 tons of fuel oil, 3.5 tons of technical carbon, 1.2 tons of metal, 1.2 tons of natural gas would be produced.

 

Victor Cazacu, a member of the project, noted, “Today in Chisinau, there are five waste collection points. Special containers were installed at gas stations and some shops selling electrical equipment. The waste collection is free of charge”.

 

He called on the citizens and economic agents to “take part in the project and bring the waste in the designated areas”.

 

Chief Inspector of Chisinau Environment Agency Ion Bulmaga said, "The Ministry of Environment is welcoming the implementation of such a project”.

 

According to him, the scientific research has found that recycling does not harm the environment.

 

The ecologist noted, “The project aim is to protect the environment and prevent pollution”. The press conference organizers refused to name the project cost that is funded from private sources.
