VIDEOS ON BEST PRACTICES OF ORGAN DONATION TO BE SHOWN IN MOLDOVA Moldovan TV channels and local radio stations will show several videos depicting good practice of donor operation and the use of donation.

 

Director of Transplant Agency, Igor Codreanu said at the news conference that in the last two years in Moldova Twinning project in this field was implemented with the EU financial assistance.

 

“The main goal of the project is to improve the legislative base in the field of organ transplantation and to support transplant agencies for the purpose of conducting operations at the level of European standards. In the framework of the project, Moldovan doctors received opportunity to study in the EU countries in the field of organ removal, transplant and post-operative monitoring”, he said.

 

According to Codreanu, there are 15 hospitals Moldova today where doctors can conduct an operation of donor organs and, in fact, their transplants.

 

“About 300 people are in the queue for such operations. We have already successfully performed 100 surgical procedures, including organ transplantation. 51 people identified as potential donors. We believe that for the last two years we have made considerable progress in the Republic of Moldova concerning the very concept of organ donation and its best practices implemented in Europe. We are grateful to our Spanish and French medical colleagues”, he noted.

 

Resident consultant Patricia Sanchez Rico believes that the promotion of information about blood donation, its benefits, and that Moldovan physicians do surgeries on the European level should be promoted in all possible ways. “These videos are accessible in different languages; they will tell people about how people were saved. Those people are not just saved physically, but their lives have purchased and new happy”, she said.
