CHISINAU PROTEST ORGANIZERS STATE INTENTION TO CONTINUE MANIFESTATIONS… The DA Platform and the Council of the Great National Assembly shall continue actions of protest “against the oligarchic regime and against the capture of the Moldovan state by oligarchs, DA Platform leader Andrei Nastase stated at a news conference at Infotag on Monday.

“On Sunday, we consulted the compatriots who came to the Chisinau's main square for protesting. We are interrupting our protests for the period of holidays. But when the Orthodox Easter [May 1] and the Remembrance Day [May 9] are over, we will decide concretely what we should do. I think the protesting will be continued – separately or together with other opposition parties standing up against oligarchs”, said Andrei Nastase.

“I don't see any problem in protesting together with all forces who struggle against the criminal oligarchic regime. It’s not us who bring people out for protesting, but those who have stolen the billion euros from banks and who have captured all state institutions”, stressed the DA leader.

DA activist Vasile Nastase said: “We know that yesterday the whole country was in the Chisinau's main square – personally or in their thoughts, adding their voices to our protesting against the oligarchs and bandits. But at least two-thirds of citizens who wanted to come to Chisinau were not able to do this because the authorities had cancelled all buses and route taxis bound for Chisinau”.

One of the DA Platform leaders, Alexandru Slusari, stated that on Sunday the authorities had thus violated at least two basic rights – the right to free protesting and the right to freedom of movement.

DA leaders stressed that protest actions shall be continued, but since now on they will be bearing a sudden character “so that not to give time to oligarchs for preparation”.

“We shall continue to act to return the captured state to its citizens”, stated DA leader Andrei Nastase.

…AND ACCUSE POLICE OF USING PROHIBITED NERVE GAS

The Sunday’s protesters are claiming that the police used not a tear gas against them but a nerve gas, Vasile Nastase of the DA Platform leadership stated at the news conference in Infotag on Monday.

“We have evidence enough to prove that it was precisely a nerve gas prohibited all over the world. I suffered of that gas myself because I was in the thick of things. The gas using was unrightful and unjustified. The police did nothing prevent the clashes. We can’t understand, either, how the cops could suffer given that they were very well equipped, wearing stone-proof helmets, shields and other special means”, said Vasile Nastase.

He voiced surprise that the police were defending not state institutions but the mansion and the headquarters of oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, where the clashes happened.

“We could see once again last Sunday that we live in a captured state, where nothing belongs to citizens and where power structures belong to oligarchs. The Ministry of the Interior leadership are but criminals on oligarchs’ service”, stated Vasile Nastase.

DA Party Deputy Chairman, Retired Police Colonel Chiril Motpan said that there were injured persons also among protesters and not only among the police. According to him, like it was last January 20, there were plain-clothes officers from Plahotniuc’s personal security service in the yesterday’s masses of protesters.

“We saw how they behaved. They were equipped differently, and acted differently, not like the police Also, there were provocateurs in the crowd, who were doing their utmost to destabilize the situation. They were long preparing for the day, so it was not accidental that all the oligarchs’ television channels were trumpeting that April 24 would see massive disturbances. Simply, they wanted very much to provoke a slaughter to accuse us of it subsequently. Fortunately, bloodshed was avoided”, said Chiril Motpan.
