GERMAN EMBASSY ANNOUNCES CONTEST FOR BUNDESTAG SCHOLARSHIPS The German Embassy to Moldova is conducting a contest of international parliamentary scholarships in German Bundestag and invites Moldovan citizens to participate in it.

 

Representative of German Embassy Thomas Weithoner said at the Tuesday’s news conference at Infotag that the stipend is provided for the period of March 1 through July 31.

 

According to him, the program is designed to Moldovan citizens under the age of 30, with higher education or completed first cycle of university education. They should have very good knowledge of German language, history and culture. Besides, candidates have to submit two letters of recommendation.

 

Candidates have to fill out the form for participation and submit all the necessary documents to the German embassy. Here, best candidates will be selected and their documents will be sent to Germany, where, another selection will be conducted. At the second stage of the contest, the selected candidates will be invited for an interview to Belarus”, the diplomat said.

 

The scholarship monthly pay will account for 500 euros, while all the revenues will be covered by Germany. Candidates will be provided with accommodation and all the necessary services. Those, who have their own housing, will be paid 300 euros monthly.

 

Within the process of study, bursars will be working with parliamentarians, participate in Bundestag activities and different events. If they want, they can study in one of three universities of Berlin.

 

After completion of the scholarship, the bursar should come back to the country for using the achieved knowledge in implementing different projects. Documents for participation may be submitted till the end of June, while in case the application period is extended, then till the end of July, Weithoner said.

 

He said that this year only one candidate from Moldova went to Germany on the basis of this contest and expressed hope that in 2017 their number will grow.

 

Moldovan students, who participated in the contest in 2012 and 2013, called on Moldovans not to be afraid and apply for scholarships. Since 2008, when Moldova participated in the contest for the first time, 26 people underwent training in Germany.
