IGOR DODON AND MAIA SANDU MAY WIN WAY TO SECOND ROUND OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS – SURVEY… If there were presidential elections next Sunday, the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Chairman Igor Dodon and Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Chairwoman Maia Sandu can get into the second round. These are the findings of a sociological survey presented on Friday by the company Intellect Group at a press conference.

 

The company representative Victoria Macovei said that about 23.8% of respondents would vote for the PSRM Chairman Igor Dodon, 16.2% - for PAS Chairwoman Maia Sandu, 9.2% - for Civil Platform “Demnitate si Adevar” Chairman Andrei Nastase. In addition, according to the survey, the Moldovan Communist Party (MCP) Chairman Vladimir Voronin would have – 7.3%, Democratic Party of Moldova (DP) Chairman Marian Lupu – 5.9%, European People's Party of Moldova (EPPM) Chairman Iurie Leanca – 5.4%, Liberal Party of Moldova (LP) Chairman Mihai Ghimpu – 1.7%. Others would receive less than 1% and 6.6% of respondents said that they would not go to vote.

 

The survey indicates that the majority of respondents have already decided whom to vote in presidential elections. About 28.8% of respondents are ready to vote for a particular candidate, 27.8% are most likely ready to vote and those who are probably not ready to vote – 21.4%, and 16.3% are not ready.

 

According to the survey, 67.1% of respondents believe that the candidate should be a politician, 18.7% - a technocrat and 14.2% were unable or didn’t want to answer this question.

 

Also, 39.9% of respondents believe that the president should be male and 9.3% believe that a woman should be. The rest were unable to answer the question.

 

If there were parliament elections next weekend, about 17.7% of respondents would vote for the PSRM, 13% - for PAS, 12.2% - for Our Party, 8.9% for MCP, and 8.4% for DPM and Civil Platform “Demnitate si Adevar”, 3.6% - ЕPPM, 3.4 – LP, 1.3% - LDPM, 0.3% for Antimafie movement.

 

If Moldova citizens had an opportunity to elect the Prime Minister, they would have voted for Pavel Filip – 16.8%, for Renato Usatii – 15.8%, for Maia Sandu – 13.5%, Iurie Leanca – 5.2%, Andrei Nastase – 5.1%, Marian Lupu and Vladimir Voronin – 2.9%, Dorin Chirtoaca – 2.7%, Valeriu Strelet – 1.3%.

 

Answering the question about the last three Prime Ministers, respondents said that the best were Pavel Filip and Valeriu Strelet – 14%, Chiril Gaburici – 7.1%.

 

12.8% of respondents trust Pavel Filip Government, 46.3% - trust a little, and 35.1% don’t trust.

 

The survey was conducted on June 11-24 in 35 Moldovan localities. It was attended by 1878 people. According to the survey organizers the margin of error is +/- 2.2%.

 

…41.6% MOLDOVANS READY TO ENTER INTO EU AND 42.5% TO EURASEC – SURVEY

 

According to the results of the survey, conducted by the Intellect Group, 41.6% of respondents are ready to vote for entering the European Union and 42.5% the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEc).

 

At the same time, 21.2% are ready to vote for unification of Moldova with Romania, while 58.7% voted against it. For the unification with Russia would vote 51.9%, and 29.4% - against it.

 

The company representative Victoria Macovei said that the majority of citizens believe that the country is moving on a wrong way and that their life will not improve in a year. Thus, according to the survey, 76.2% of respondents believe that the country goes on the wrong way and 14.1 – on the right way.

 

About 25.6% said that they a satisfied with their lives, and 38% said that they a very dissatisfied, 26.8% have not decided yet, 9.3% are satisfied and 0.3% are very satisfied.

 

Answering the question about whether they will live better in a year, 42.7% answered that their life will not change much, 18.8% believe that they will live worse, 7.2% much worse, 13.9% will live better and 1% much better, and 16.4% could not answer.

 

67.6% of respondents said that they get the information from watching TV, 21.8% learn everything from the Internet, 3.6% from social networking, 3.2% from radio, 2.1% from relatives, 1% from newspapers.

 

Most respondents trust the following channels: Moldova 1- 17.3%, Prime – 15.8%, Jurnal TV – 14.3%, ProTV Chisinau – 9.8%, Publika – 6.3%, Canal 2 – 4.5%, Canal 3 – 4.2%, RTR Moldova – 4%, Rentv Moldova – 2.4%, N4 – 2%, TV7 – 1.9%, Realitatea tv – 1.8%.

 

“As a result of the survey, we will select five channels, which enjoy citizens’ confidence. After that we will monitor their activities and their news telecasts. The company is not able to monitor all channels, so we will conduct a random monitoring”, said Lisnevschi.
