IGOR DODON REMAINING THE MOST POPULAR POLITICIAN IN MOLDOVA – OPINION POLL The leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), MP Igor Dodon is maintaining lead in citizens’ popularity among all presidential candidates, as per the findings of the opinion poll carried out by the Intellect Group company that were presented at a news conference at Infotag today.

 

Group Director Ian Lisnevschi said at the presentation that if a presidential election were held next Sunday, the PSRM leader would poll 30.8%, DA Platform candidate Andrei Nastase – 12.2%, Democratic Party leader Marian Lupu – 11.8%, Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Chairperson Maia Sandu – 11.3%, Chairman of the European People’s Party of Moldova (EPPM) Iurie Leanca – 6.9%, Our Party candidate Dmitry Ciubasenco – 4.6%, Liberal Party Chairman Mihai Ghimpu – 2.6%, and all the rest presidential candidates – less than 1%.

 

Asked who should be Moldova’s president – a man or a woman, 72% chose a man, 17% a woman, and the rest said it did not matter.

 

So far, only 56% respondents stated they will surely go to the polls on October 30, whereas 36% said “I would rather go”, and 6% will not go – absolutely.

 

If a parliamentary election were held in Moldova next Sunday, the Party of Socialists would receive 25.6%, PAS party – 12.5%, the Democratic Party – 12%, the DA Platform – 11%, Our Party – 8.4%, the Communist Party – 6%, EPPM – 3.5%, the Liberal Party – 3.4%, the Liberal Democratic Party – 1.2%, the National Liberal Party – 1%, and the rest organizations – less than 1%. The research was carried out on September 19 through 28. It involved 2,100 adult residents from various-type populated areas all over the country. The pollsters are saying that error should not exceed ±1.2%.
