EDINET WOMAN MAINTAINS LAW-ENFORCEMENT COVER UP HER SON’S MURDERER

11 octomber, 2016
EDINET WOMAN MAINTAINS LAW-ENFORCEMENT COVER UP HER SON’S MURDERER Raisa Urzica, a Edinet raion resident, maintains that the law enforcement cover up the murderer of her son and keep claiming that the young man died due to his own fault.

Urzica convened a news conference at Infotag today and said that in early August she remitted 1,200 euros from Italy to her son to help him buy a car. One evening, his former work colleague Artur Bocanu came to their house in Zabriceni village and took her son with him to some Edinet town bar to have fun.

“On that night my boy died. His body with numerous traumas was found under a car – without money. There are eye-witnesses who saw the traffic accident and saw Bocanu driving the car. My son was sitting next him and in the rear seats – two more guys. The witnesses saw the driver getting out of the car and running away, while my son was left dying under the smashed car”, said the mother.

According to her, she has collected all evidences proving Bocanu’s guilt, and “besides this, there are eye-witnesses who are ready to give evidence”.

“Upon learning that I was gathering information about the accident, Bocanu came to my home and offered money, asking me not to go to police. He also promised to plead guilty at interrogation. I refused to take the money. Bocanu did not show up at police. He bribed the law enforcement into dragging the case and not bringing him to responsibility. He has a pull in the right places”, said the mother.

Raisa Urzica said that for two months now, the police have been dragging out the investigation and would not send the case over to the court. They did not issue Bocanu a prohibition to leave the country, claiming that there are no evidences enough for proving his guilt. Moreover, the law enforcement are turning a blind eye to the fact that Bocanu has changed his family name to shirk responsibility for crimes he had committed in Russia and Moldova.

“And it was only several days ago that I began receiving letters from law enforcement agencies who are now reporting what measures they have taken. That happened only after I had addressed to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Center”, said Urzica.

The resolute woman demanded from the law enforcement that they must bring the case to the logical end and send it to the court and duly punish the killer(s) of her son, “otherwise I shall seek justice with the European Court of Human Rights!”
