The Transnistrian refugees’ movement renews protests, demanding authorities to allow them to privatize the provided social housing.
The Movement Chairman Anatol Bizgu told at a news conference in Infotag that according to the legislation, refugees and warfare participants are free to privatize issued social housing, but in fact there are many problems.
“Residents of the house on the 11/3 Ginta Latina street are able to privatize their housing, while residents of the house on the 21/5 Milescu Spataru street cannot do it until the Parliament gives them a reply to the law on housing privatization for refugees and veterans. We have many times requested the Parliament and the Government to hold a meeting with the Parliament Chairman Andrian Candu and Prime Minister Pavel Filip, but we have not met yet”, he said.
According to him, the authorities give the permission for privatization selectively, for some obscure reasons.
The Movement Chairman maintained that the veterans and the refugees renew protests, which will last till October 30 in front of the Government and the Parliament.
He also urged the refugees to unite and fight for their right, for privatization of their houses.
Infotag’s dossier: In 2007 and 2009, two multi-storey buildings were put in commission for veterans of the Transnistrian conflict and for refugees, but the authorities forbade people to privatize the housing. According to the authorities’ decision, those who want to privatize the social housing must pay its all cost.
