2016
Socialist Party candidate Igor Dodon and Democratic Party candidate Marian Lupu may reach the second round of presidential elections, show the data of sociological poll, presented by the Intellect group at the Wednesday’s news conference at Infotag.
Company Chairman Ian Lisnevschi said that if presidential election was held next Sunday, Dodon would get 33.5% votes (in September’s inquiry – 30.8%, in August – 23.8%), Lupu – 12.7% (11.8% and 5.9%), DA leader Andrei Nastase – 12.1% (12.2% and 9.2%), PAS leader Maia Sandu – 11.5% (11.3% and 16.2%), EPPM leader Iurie Leanca – 7% (6.9% and 5.4%), Dmitry Ciubasenco of the Partidul Nostru – 4.4% (4.6%), LP leader Mihai Ghimpu – 1.4% (2.6% and 1.7%).
According to Lisnevschi, the probability that Igor Dodon and Marian Lupu will reach the second round is due to the fact that they started to conduct the election campaign more actively. Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase’s indexes declined as a result of their passive election campaign and the process of finding out who will be the single candidate for the presidential post.
He said that if other candidates will be more active, the situation may change.
52.3% of interviewees are sure they will go voting at presidential elections (56.2% in September), 35.2% – almost sure they will go (34.5%), 5.2% – will not go (6%).
8.5% respondents are very interested in the election campaign (14% in September), 24.2% are interested (27%), rather interested – 30% (28.6%), not quite interested – 22.2% (20%), not interested at all – 14.2% (8.8%).
Asked what the new president has to do first of all, 36.4% (44.4%) said to dissolve the Parliament and announce early elections, while 53.6% (47.6%) – to cooperate with the Parliament and the Government.
The opinion poll was carried out among 1,847 residents of 35 various-level populated areas across Moldova on September 29 through October 9. The pollsters are saying that error should not exceed ±2.3%.
