PEOPLE’S SOCIALIST PARTY CALLS TO VOTE FOR IGOR DODON

25 octomber, 2016
PEOPLE’S SOCIALIST PARTY CALLS TO VOTE FOR IGOR DODON The People’s Socialist Party has called on the political class and civil society of the Republic of Moldova to get united, forget political differences and vote for presidential candidate Igor Dodon, Chairman of the Party of Socialists (PSRM).

PSP Chairman Victor Stepaniuc stated at a news conference in Infotag on Tuesday that the incumbent populist and corrupt Right-Centrist authorities have shown their complete incompetence and inefficiency in the domestic as well as external policy and in country governance.

“The usurpation of state power by greedy oligarchs, the theft of billions from Moldovan banks, the ruining of the national economy and social sphere, inability to combat corruption, discrediting of the Constitution, promotion of the unirea [unification of the Republic of Moldova with Romania], state debt growth – all this has downgraded Moldova into a country not able to ensure its independence or survival without foreign grants”, believes the former Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister.

In his words, the People’s Socialist Party has always supported the protest movement against the anti-social and anti-national policy of the Government and stood up for consolidation of opposition forces, for holding an early parliamentary election and for forming a new government.

“Having analyzed the situation in the country and presidential candidates’ programs, the People’s Socialist Party arrived at a conclusion that the most suitable candidate for the supreme post is Igor Dodon. His program is more realistic. He can unite the society and develop the national economy”, said Victor Stepaniuc.

He voiced hope that President Dodon will be defending citizens’ rights in struggle against oligarchy and corruption, will promote the search for those who siphoned off billions of lei from banks, will be able to bring the stolen money back and promote the holding of an early parliamentary election.

The presidential election in Moldova will hopefully be held on October 30.
