​SECOND ROUND SHOULD BE WON BY IGOR DODON – OPINION POLL Victory at the approaching second round of the presidential election in Moldova will be won by candidate Igor Dodon of the Party of Socialists, as per the findings of the opinion poll carried out by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of Moldova.

 

Association Chairman Victor Mocanu said at the result presentation at Infotag on Monday that 49.8% respondents are ready to vote for Dodon and 39.7% – for his rival Maia Sandu, the common candidate from Right opposition forces. 5.2% respondents are uncertain yet, and 5.3% stated they would not go to the polls on November 13.

 

Mocanu said that among those citizens who have already made up their mind definitely concerning going to the polls, 55.6% respondents will vote for Dodon and 44.4% for Sandu.

 

Readiness to take part in the second round of voting was stated by 51% interviewed citizens (before the first round of October 30, the readiness was at the level of 52%), “would rather go” – 32% (35%), “would rather not go” – 8% (7%), and “I will definitely not go” – 5% (4%). And 4% (2%) are still uncertain.

 

Only 22.4% respondents believe the election campaign is going on without violations, 33.2% think – with some violations, and 19.8% – with numerous violations.

 

46.1% respondents are convinced that falsifications substantially influence on election results, 28.5% – that influence very strongly, 15% – not very strongly, 2.3% – not influence at all, and 8% were uncertain.

 

27.4% interviewed citizens said they are interested in politics, 13.1% – strongly interested, 43.4% – not very much, and 15% are indifferent to politics.

 

The opinion poll was carried out on November 1-5 among 1,075 adult residents of 78 various-type localities across Moldova. The pollsters are saying that error should not exceed ±3%.
