PSP MAINTAINS THAT IMF, EU, ROMANIA AND USA ARE INTERFERING INTO ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN MOLDOVA

10 november, 2016
PSP MAINTAINS THAT IMF, EU, ROMANIA AND USA ARE INTERFERING INTO ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN MOLDOVA The People’s Socialist Party of Moldova believes that the International Monetary Fund, the European Union, Romania and the United States are interfering into the ongoing presidential campaign in Moldova, and the credits provided for the republic are intended actually for supporting the incumbent authorities.

The PSP leader, former Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Victor Stepaniuc said at a news conference at Infotag today that it is becoming obvious that out of the two presidential candidates [Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Chairperson Maia Sandu and Party of Socialists leader Igor Dodon], Maia Sandu is ready to tolerate whatever pressure from behalf of the IMF and the USA for the sake of preventing an early parliamentary election and avoiding an investigation into the embezzlement of billions from three Moldovan banks.

“The Moldovan people should at last comprehend that Western puppeteers want to use Maia Sandu as an instrument for preserving the current corrupt and inefficient regime further in power and for controlling the country by means of generous Western loans, projects on the privatization of public property and on selling Moldovan lands to foreigners”, said Victor Stepaniuc.

“Moldova does not need credits that are plundered out by high-ranked state officials. Moldova does not need the secret Memorandum with the IMF [The document was published in full the day before.] Moldova does not need corrupt rulers, thieves or their defenders, who have converted the country into a colony and Moldovans – into slaves and beggars. Our country does not wish to be a puppet and does not want to live under the puppeteers in power who serve to oligarchs and foreign interests”, stated Stepaniuc.

He believes that the 2016 presidential election is only the first step in the struggle for freedom, independence and social progress. The politician called on citizens to make a well-thought, correct choice in the second round of the presidential election next Sunday.

“The incumbent authorities are responsible for all the problems and troubles in Moldova of last 7.5 years. So, one of these authorities, ex-minister of government Maia Sandu, has no moral right to govern the Moldovan state. Only Igor Dodon, a man with a strong character and vast practical experience in politics and economy management, having a strong professional team, is able to govern the country and resolve its problems”, believes the PSP leader.

Victor Stepaniuc proposed Igor Dodon to initiate a nation-wide socio-political dialog with the participation of all parties, “including the oligarchic opposition”, and to work out together a strategic program for modernization of Moldova.
