CHESS SCHOOL NR.7 URGE CHISINAU AUTHORITIES TO PREVENT ITS CLOSURE Coaches of specialized chess school Nr.7 urge Chisinau authorities to save it from destruction and closure.

School Deputy Director Valery Coada said at a news conference in Infotag that Ion Girnet was appointed as a new school director last July through a competition.

“The competition was held with numerous violations, but the commission found them to be insignificant. The new director began to apply sanctions against school coaches on individual reasons and threatened them with dismissals. In November, he hired two employees, who had not held any classes since their appointment; moreover they received their salaries. The director himself held no classes from December 11 to August 12. Besides this, he impedes to international competitions and to participation of Moldovan chess players in foreign competitions”, said the chess coach.

His colleagues also believe that if authorities do not take action the school may be closed as the new director impede school development and entices children to Academy of Children where he is a coach.

Coada invites the authorities to remove Girnet and to bring him to responsibility for violations.

“We are ready to fight to the end, to sue, despite the fact that the new director threatened us that in case of loss he will do everything to dissolve all school stuff and to restructure it”, said Deputy Director.
