VIOREL MORARI MAINTAINS CRIMINAL PROSECUTION AGAINST BORS BROTHERS WAS BASED ON MATERIALS OF NATIONAL TAX INSPECTORATE AND INTERIOR MINISTRY

The criminal prosecution of brothers Adrian and Igor Bors, the owners of the Vento network of gas stations, was based on the materials of the checks carried out by the National Tax Inspectorate and on the findings by the Ministry of the Interior’s Investigation Inspectorate. And the prosecution was definitely not an initiative of the Anti-Corruption Prosecution Service [aka "Anticoruptie"], its former Head Viorel Morari stated at a news conference in Infotag.

According to him, the brothers were suspected of money laundering, tax evasion and frauds. Morari remarked that Igor was accused of major tax evasion and money laundering (totaling 2.4 million lei). And the charges against him were brought on the basis of the check made at the Datario Company, the main shareholder of the Vento network.

“Igor Bors headed the Tirex Company, and Adrian initiated the establishment of the Vento network of filling stations. Vento appeared as a result of reduction of Tirex assets because the brothers worked team-like. That was proved by the materials presented by the MoI Investigation Inspectorate. To manage the network, the brothers had registered several companies and appointed as their administrators the persons who were financially dependent on the brothers”, stated Viorel Morari, who believes that the Vento network inflicted damage to the mother company of Tirex.

“That was revealed by an international audit undertaken at Tirex. However, the Tirex Director, a citizen of Germany who collaborated with Anticoruptie, was dismissed, and later on Tirex refused to collaborate with law enforcement agencies”, said Viorel Morari.
