MAIA SANDU CONFIRMS SHE IS THE COMMON CANDIDATE FROM RIGHT OPPOSITION

13 octomber, 2016

Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Chairperson Maia Sandu confirmed at a press briefing on Thursday that she is the common candidate for the presidential post from Moldova’s right-wing opposition forces.

“Our citizens were looking forward to this nomination. We realize we have no right to disappoint them. Only a common candidate from anti-oligarchic forces has chances for passing into the second round of voting and for winning a victory over Socialist Igor Dodon, who is also supported by oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc”, stated Maia Sandu.

She reminded that yet last August the three parties – PAS, DA and LDPM – decided to nominate a common candidate for the President of Moldova proceeding from opinion poll results.

“We have the findings of a second opinion research on hands showing that I have better chances in the first round to poll more votes [than Andrei Nastase], and to defeat Igor Dodon in the second round. I am grateful to my DA and LDPM colleagues, particularly to Andrei Nastase, for their support to me. I promise not to disappoint you and to wage the struggle to the victorious end. Together we shall win!” assured Maia Sandu.
