AS OF 28 FEBRUARY, UKRAINE CLOSED ENTRY INTO COUNTRY THROUGH TRANSNISTRIAN BORDER SECTION

Ukraine has closed entry to Moldova through the Transnistrian section of the border as of February 28. The Ukrainian Customs Service announced this on Sunday.

All crossing points at the Ukrainian border with Russia, Belarus and the Transnistrian section of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border have been temporarily closed since 00:00 February 28.

Ukrainian authorities will suspend the operation of some border checkpoints, among which Boryspil, Kiev (Zhulyany), Kharkiv, Odessa, Lviv, etc.

The Moldovan government recommends Moldovan citizens staying in Ukraine to immediately return home, by using checkpoints in the north and south of Moldova.

The length of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border is 1,222 km, of which the central (Transnistrian) section is 422 km long.
