GAGAUZIA BANNED PROPAGANDA OF NON-TRADITIONAL VALUES AND LGBT MARCHES

26 may, 2022

The propaganda of nontraditional values and LGBT marches were banned in Gagauzia. The ban was imposed by a decision of the People's Assembly of Gagauzia "On the ban on propaganda of nontraditional values".

The document was unanimously adopted by the Gagauz deputies the day before within the Festival of LGBT Community in Moldova "Moldova Pride", due to take place on June 13-19 and to conclude with a solidarity march in Chisinau.

A deputy from the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, Petr Fazli, called the planned Pride event in Moldova "a satanic, diabolical event."

"Statisticians made an analysis, and it turns out that there are 7% of such sick people on the entire globe. Why should the rest of the majority go along with these people and we have to witness these events? (...) The People's Assembly should be categorical on this issue. The promotion of unconventional human relationships goes against our Christian foundations. God has proclaimed that the family is a man, a woman and children. We must follow this principle: one parent is a man, the other parent is a woman," Fazli stressed.

The chairman of the People's Assembly of Gagauzia, Dmitri Konstantinov, noted in this respect that "despite disagreements on other issues, the position of the entire Gagauzia, the Executive Committee and the People's Assembly is united".
