The authorities of the Republic of Moldova have not yet managed to change the paradigm of the country’s economic development, prominent Moldovan economic expert Galina Selari said at a press conference held in the Infotag agency on Tuesday.

She said that on the path of European integration, it is very important for Moldova to find internal sources for economic growth.

“Unfortunately, we have to admit that the real sector of the Moldovan economy has less and less influence on the GDP,” the expert said.

She drew attention to the fact that Moldova’s export geography has changed, but this did not in any way affect the real diversification of the country’s exports.

According to Selari, Moldova faces the task of restructuring the economy and urgently searching for internal sources for GDP growth.

“European integration means that Moldova needs to create an effective and functional market economy in which competitive economic agents operate,” she believes.
