GOVERNMENT IMPLEMENTS EVOSIGN AS A NEW DIGITAL IDENTIFICATION TOOL

The government on Wednesday approved a resolution on the implementation of EVOSign - a tool for creating and using advanced electronic signatures.

As reported by INFOTAG, this creates the legal basis for launching EVOSign in Moldova - a free mobile application, providing citizens with a simple and convenient way of authentication and access to electronic government services. This step expands and diversifies the types of electronic signatures available in the Republic of Moldova, providing access to electronic identification and digital government services for all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, both domestically and abroad.

Approximately 260,000 citizens of Moldova have electronic signatures and can access government services digitally. The launch of EVOSign will significantly expand access to digital government services and simplify their acquisition by citizens.

Government spokesperson Daniel Voda announced at a briefing after the government meeting that on the morning of April 26, the electronic signature application for desktop computers will be updated. Therefore, users will need to update the application to use signatures after this date.
